蓬萊米由日本種稻米所改良,屬於粳米亞種。蓬萊米補脾胃,養五臟,壯氣力。 蓬萊米短而粗,呈橢圓形,屬於中粒米。也是米種中口碑甚好的一種,在台灣,也廣被用來釀酒,如米酒就是使用蓬萊米所釀成的。
Calrose originally was improved from Japanese rice and belongs to the japonica rice subspecies. Calrose rice nourishes the spleen and stomach, benefits the internal organs, and strengthens energy. It is short and thick, oval in shape, and belongs to medium grain rice. It has a good reputation. In Taiwan, it is also widely used for winemaking.
